Association Maak is a Lebanese NGO that aims to empower individuals and families in need by offering financial assistance in the form of microcredit loans, academic loans, and other incentives. We believe that people have the right to live with dignity, and thus our approach is to provide the right tools to help vulnerable citizens become self-sufficient, productive members of society.
How it all started
Maak’s success comes down to the efforts of a committed group of passionate volunteers
In 2009, Roger Khairallah, together with Reverend Victor Assouad SJ, set out on a mission to meet some of the most underprivileged citizens in Lebanon, helping them become financially independent through microcredit loans and professional guidance
Supported by several local stakeholders in different regions, Maak extended its activities to cover the entire Lebanese territory. Through the use of the microcredit loan system, we help vulnerable individuals bounce back and take control of their lives

Objectives
Create Opportunities: We believe in the transformative power of microcredit loans to enable aspiring entrepreneurs and small businesses to thrive, paving the way for self-reliance and financial independence.
Fighting Poverty: Our primary objective is to fight poverty by extending financial resources to those who have been traditionally excluded from mainstream financial systems such as banks and money lenders, allowing them to secure a decent lifestyle and improve their living standards.
Empowering women: We are committed to promoting gender equality and empowering women by providing equal access to microcredit loans, enabling women to become active participants in their family’s financial well-being.
Innovation and Adaption: We continuously support innovative solutions such as start-up projects, allowing people to think outside the box and adapt to fluctuating economic demands.
Fighting Displacement: We strive to help people to remain in their home towns, so that their development can benefit both them and their surrounding communities.
